I get away with using Crisco because Beth is only sensitive to soy protein - meaning that soy oil and soy lecithin don't seem to bother her. I did a little looking around on Google and it looks like others have used lard to make some rather tasty frostings. If you give it a try, I'd love to know how you come out! Best of luck!
